Online tracking system for Right to Information (RTI) requests allow two-way communication between the general public and the information officers (IO) and designated officers of government organizations. Apart from these two stakeholders (government organization and general public), The Ministry of Information and Mass Media and the RTI commission of Sri Lanka will monitor the performance of public authorities through the system and ensure due compliance of the duties cast on the public Authorities under the Right to Information Act, No. 12 of 2016.
INFORMATION THAT WE MAY COLLECT
Personally Identifiable Information:
We may collect, among others, the following information when you sign up with applications developed by Ministry of Information and Mass Media: basic information such as first name, last name, email address, mailing address and phone number.
When a user accesses an application developed by Ministry of Information and Mass Media, we may collect technical information about the user’s device, such as the IP address that requested the display of the application, the operating system type, and the identifiers associated with the device.
Sign Up and Survey information:
Any information you provide to us, and any information you choose to share about yourself as part of your use of any application developed by Ministry of Information and Mass Media, may be stored as entered.
Cookies are text files that we and our service providers may place on your device's browser to enable our systems to recognize your browser. We may use sessions and web cookies to remember your settings, preferences and usage within applications developed by Ministry of Information and Mass Media.
Social Networking Sites:
If you access an application developed by Ministry of Information and Mass Media via a third-party social networking site Ministry of Information and Mass Media may receive information about your social networking site profile, including without limitation the information you make publicly available, your social networking site user ID, your first, last and user names, profile and cover photos.
When you download or access application developed by Ministry of Information and Mass Media via a mobile device, we and our service providers may receive information about your location (based on your IP address) and your mobile device, including various unique identifiers associated with your device, hardware type, the version of your operating system and your activity within games. We and our service providers may use this information to provide you with personalized content based on your location.
We may share user information with the relevant government stakeholders, and as described below.
When Ministry of Information and Mass Media completes the user testing with the application developed with a selected targeted group, we will be handing over it to the relevant implementation body/ government authority. In such transactions, user information is generally one of the transferred assets transferred.
CHAT & MESSAGING
In applications developed by Ministry of Information and Mass Media, message boards and/or chat area may be operated where users can exchange ideas and communicate with each other. When posting to a message board or chat area, the information may be stored as entered. Any information posted is the sole responsibility of the individual user.
